Editing Products
The product editing form is the main tool you will use daily to keep your catalog up to date. From here you can modify all product information, manage translations, and configure marketplace-specific attributes.
Accessing the Edit Form
To edit a product:
- Navigate to Products in the sidebar menu
- In the product catalog, click on the name of the product you want to edit
- The detail page will open with the editing form
Two-Column Layout
The form is organized in two columns for easy navigation:
| Column | Content |
|---|---|
| Left (main) | Product information, description, key points, SEO |
| Right (sidebar) | Availability, classification, attributes |
On mobile devices, the columns stack vertically.
Product Information
The main section contains all the descriptive fields for the product:
Main Fields
| Field | Description | Importance |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Product name (translatable) | Required for all channels |
| Description | Descriptive text with formatting | Important for SEO and conversion |
| HTML Description | Rich-formatted description | Used by channels that support HTML |
| Key Points | List of highlighted features (max 7) | Essential for Amazon and MercadoLibre |
| Brand | Manufacturer or brand | Required on most marketplaces |
| Model | Model number or name | Useful for specific searches |
| Department | Product area or department | Helps with internal classification |
| Tags | Keywords for organization | Facilitate filtering in your catalog |
| Barcode / UPC | Universal product identifier | Required for Amazon and Walmart |
| Condition | New, used, or refurbished | Required for marketplaces |
| Measure Unit | Piece, kg, liter, etc. | Relevant for bulk products |
| Product Type | Physical, digital, or service | Determines shipping options |
Key Points (Bullets)
Key points are a list of up to 7 main product features. They are especially important for marketplaces:
- Amazon: Displays them as "bullet points" on the product page
- MercadoLibre: Uses them in the structured description
- Shopify: Can use them in the product template
Tip
Write concise, benefit-oriented key points. For example, instead of "Material: cotton", use "100% breathable cotton for maximum comfort".
Multi-Language Support
Fenicia allows you to translate product fields into multiple languages using the LocaleTabs system.
How It Works
- At the top of the form, you will see tabs for each configured language
- Click each tab to edit the corresponding translation
- Use the Add Language button to add new translations
Fallback Chain
When a field has no translation in the channel's language, Fenicia follows this fallback chain:
es-MX → es → enFor example, if the channel is set to es-MX but no translation exists for that dialect, the es (general Spanish) translation is used. If that does not exist either, en (English) is used.
Translatable fields
The fields that support translation are: title, description, HTML description, and key points. Other fields (brand, model, barcode) are universal.
Floating Action Bar
At the bottom of the form, there is a fixed action bar that remains visible as you scroll:
- Save button: Saves all changes made
- Cancel button: Discards changes and reverts to the previous state
- Unsaved changes indicator: A pulsing dot appears when there are pending modifications
- Validation error count: Shows the number of errors that must be fixed before saving
Unsaved changes
If you try to navigate away from the form with unsaved changes, Fenicia will show a warning to prevent losing your work.
Real-Time Validation
The form automatically validates fields as you fill them in:
- Errors appear below each affected field
- An alert box at the top summarizes all errors
- The save button is disabled if there are critical errors
- Validation runs when you change fields and when you attempt to save
Saving Changes
When saving an edited product:
- Fenicia validates all form fields
- If there are no errors, changes are saved to the database
- Changes sync automatically with all connected channels
- You will receive a visual confirmation that the changes were saved successfully
Channel synchronization
Synchronization with marketplaces may take a few seconds. If a channel rejects a change (for example, a title that is too long for Amazon), you will see a notification with the error details.
Important Fields per Marketplace
Each marketplace has different requirements. Here is a quick guide on which fields to prioritize:
| Field | Amazon | MercadoLibre | Shopify | Walmart |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Title | Required | Required | Required | Required |
| Description | Required | Required | Recommended | Required |
| Key Points | Required (5) | Recommended | Optional | Required |
| Brand | Required | Required | Optional | Required |
| Barcode | Required | Optional | Optional | Required |
| Condition | Required | Required | Optional | Required |
| Images | Min. 1 | Min. 1 | Recommended | Min. 1 |
Tip
Complete all possible fields even if they are not required. More complete listings get better visibility and ranking in each marketplace's search results.
