Locations represent the physical or virtual places where you store and manage your inventory. Properly configuring your locations is essential for stock tracking, order preparation, and shipping logistics.
Fenicia supports different location types depending on your operational model:
| Type | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Warehouse | Storage and distribution center | Main warehouse, distribution center |
| Store | Physical point of sale | Downtown branch, Polanco store |
| Online | Virtual location for online sales | Default online store |
| FBA | Fulfillment by Amazon | Inventory managed by Amazon |
| Mercado Full | Mercado Libre fulfillment | Inventory in Mercado Libre warehouses |
External locations
FBA and Mercado Full location types represent inventory stored by third parties. Fenicia automatically syncs quantities from these services but does not allow manual adjustments.
Go to Locations from the main menu and click New location.
Define the name, location type, and an optional description to help your team identify it.
Enter the full address including street, neighborhood, city, state, postal code, and country.
Activate or deactivate the location and define whether it accepts inventory transfers from other locations.
Within each location you can create sub-areas or zones to organize your inventory in greater detail:
Tip
Sub-areas allow you to perform partial inventory counts by zone, speeding up the physical verification process.
Each location can be in one of two states:
| Status | Effect |
|---|---|
| Active | Accepts inventory, appears in shipping and transfer operations |
| Inactive | Does not accept new inventory, does not appear in new operations |
Deactivating a location
Before deactivating a location, make sure to transfer all existing inventory to another active location. Inventory in inactive locations is not available for sale.
Sales channels connect to specific locations to determine where inventory is deducted when an order is received:
Locations are the central axis of several features in Fenicia:
| Feature | Relationship with locations |
|---|---|
| Inventory | Stock is tracked per location |
| Transfers | Movements between locations |
| Shipping | Origin address for labels |
| Counts | Physical verification per location |
